Where Should I Use 40mm Decking Screws
40mm decking screws are exactly 40mm in length inclusive of the head and self drilling point. We always recommend 2.5 x timber thickness when screwing down deck boards so these screws are perfect for decking boards up to 16mm thick. If you are screwing into a hardwood joist you can use a shorter screw at 2 times fixture thickness.
