who are we ?

Scrooz is a new concept in hardware and fastener retailing. We are an australian company operating from fully modern warehousing, based in and only selling in australia. Although we operate completely seperately, we are a division of a much larger european based fastener operation serving global markets on a business to business basis, needless to say, we know fasteners inside out, so you can relax, you're in safe, experienced and reliable hands.

what are we selling ?

Our product range is primarily fixings, fasteners and fastener hardware along with some tools in the form of power tool accessories such as drill bits, screwdriver bits etc. Our product range will grow and expand as new products enter the market and we add to the range following feedback from you guys, so drop us a line here if there's anything you'd like to see us add to our range. We'd love to hear from you.

how do we sell ?

We are a 100% online operation. We have no physical stores and we don't employ sales people. We do not have 24hr helplines or manned call centres, so no-one will be ringing to pester you with sales calls and the latest and greatest offers. You cannot buy our products anywhere else other than through our website. So why do we only sell this way? We want to sell to you as cheap as possible so we need to keep our overheads to a minimum, which means keeping our involvement in the sales process to a minimum hence no excess staff. When you shop on our site you are doing all our sales work for us, processing is all automated so all we have to do is pick, pack and despatch your order. Our business relies on being a trim, slick operation but as in all companies, as soon as the overheads rise then so will our prices, that's just business - but we know you understand that.

who do we sell to ?

We have no target market at all, anyone is welcome to buy from scrooz and everyone gets the same full access to our exceptional prices 24 hours a day seven days a week, from your own computer. So you can browse at your leisure, that's no ringing around for best prices or feeling uncomfortable negotiating rates in person at often intimidating trade outlets or leaving your local hardware superstore with feeling you've just massively overpaid for a few small items. Our customers are a diverse mix, ranging from blue chip corporations to people doing some diy at home; with the bulk of our sales going to tradesmen, serious DIYers and self build homeowners.

what about our pricing ?

We are a wholesale operation. Our type of business normally supplies its goods to retailers, distributors and trade outlets only. They would then apply the required sales profit plus a margin for overheads to each product to arrive at an end user sales price. The whole basis of the scrooz operation is to source at a wholesale level, which means we are either having a product or range made specifically for us or we are buying an existing product directly from a manufacturer - which we are then selling direct to end users. This sales method allows us full control over our product sales (rather than dealing through 3rd parties) and also allows us to offer very aggressive pricing. Our policy is to provide the cheapest prices we can in an honest fashion and we are entirely confident we can save you at least half the cost of a similar order from a typical large mainstream hardware outlet. A wholesale operation relies on throughput; we have huge amounts of stock coming in and we need it going out. So, hopefully you will buy more products from us per order and return to our site regularly, as well as spreading the word of course....

and the product quality ?

We have been manufacturing and buying fasteners for many years. We know our products, we know the industry and we know where to buy and, more importantly, where not to. We only source from ethically compliant manufacturers who don't employ child labour or disadvantaged workers and we try to support the economy we are trading in by using local incountry suppliers where we can. Our industrial quality product range is sourced to our exacting and specific standards including specified steel grades and plate finishes etc. with most carrying a 'behind the scenes' quality standard such as ISO, TUV etc. and no product enters our range without full field testing from us first. We are so confident of the quality of our range that if a scrooz product fails for any reason, send it back to us with a full description of how you were using it and we'll send you back double the amount or give you a full refund along with refunding your postal costs, whilst our technical dept thoroughly investigates the failure.

how can you contact us ?

We're a web based business so our primary communication method is of course email.  During office hours staff check emails at a maximum of 30 minute intervals, so any queries you have should be answered quickly.
