credit cards ...

We take our security responsibilities very seriously and therefore use a fully encrypted SSL gateway service, meaning we cannot commence payment processing until we receive all the information we need from you. We must establish that you are the card owner and that you physically have the card with you and therefore we ask that you complete all the required fields in our checkout process. All Credit Card details go through an Address Verification (AV) process so you must supply the correct billing address & phone number that matches the credit card you have used. If any information is missing or incorrect this will likely result in a rejected order or require us to contact you to provide further identification for additional security reference checks. There's more information about our security procedures after this payment section below ...

You may notice there is no box on our checkout page to tell us what type of card your using, don't worry, we use the latest technology and your card is auto recognised in our system from the main number. All credit card orders are processed in real time in the order we receive them, once your card payment has been security checked and verified, usually within an hour, your order will commence processing through our system and you will be sent a confirmation email detailing or linking to your order whilst we commence the picking process.

All payments should be received by us within 10 days from your order confirmation date, after this period we will assume the goods are no longer required and will cancel the transaction.  security ...

We take our security responsibilities very seriously. The following information gives a brief insight into what we are doing at Scrooz to provide a safe online shopping environment for us all. If you have any queries or security concerns at all, please let us know, we'll be happy to answer any queries or concerns you may have.

your data and privacy ...

When your browsing our site we are not and cannot collect any data about you. When you register, log on or place an order obviously we need some personal information from you, however we will only ask for information relative to our transaction processes. Naturally, these processes require that we deal with 3rd parties (payment gateways, visa, mastercard etc) and consequently some of your information must be shared. This information is only supplied for verification purposes and consists of only the small amount of data required to process and complete your order.

We do not keep any sensitive data about you such as payment details on file or on our servers, these details are deleted from our servers immediately on transaction completion. In the unlikely event we have printed off your order for manual input then these details are shredded on completion of your order. We do however keep non sensitive sales information for your benefit as well as ours, this data allows us to offer a much simpler and streamlined shopping experience and offer you features such as order histories, favourite products etc. so for example you can quickly log in and see what you bought last time and how much you paid and so on. We use this data to keep in touch and send details of offers and promotions that may not be available to the general public. You can easily ask to unsubscribe from any data lists we hold and we will remove your details immediately.

We confirm we do not share, sell, rent or barter any identifiable personal information about you to any third parties at all, period. If you want more info, full details of our privacy policy are available here.

shopping security ...

Yours and our security is a priority at Scrooz, we use the latest security technologies to encrypt your personal information as it travels across the internet and your credit cards are guaranteed against fraudulent charges, our site is designed so that these protections are automatic and are permanently operating 24/7 so you can be confident there's nothing you need to do except shop. Our credit card transactions are handled for us by our internet gateway partners Eway who are Australias largest and most secure internet and electronic payment processing provider.

so how does this high level of security work?

Well when you process a transaction with us, all of your personal information, including your credit card number, is encoded (scrambled) with the latest encryption technology known as SSL and uses 128-bit RC4 encryption technology (realistically considered unbreakable). This means it cannot be read as it travels to our ordering system, our order processing centre is a database held on a secure server which is not connected to the Internet and is not accessible in any way to 3rd parties. When processing orders on our site, we don't collect the financial information required to process your payment. This information is solely handled by our banking partner (Commonwealth Bank) and is collected on a secure server, it is Eway who arrange the collection, encryption and movement of this information between you and our Banks server. They also have no access to the actual detail as its fully encrypted to everyone except the bank who are the only other party with the decoding (unscrambling) facilities required to read your information and finalise the transaction, at no stage can your credit card details be accessed beyond our banking institution and the only details we ever receive about your credit card is a truncated abbreviated version of the main number purely so we can distinguish different transactions, we never actually receive your full credit card details, only our bank does.

so what's this ssl all about?

It stands for secure sockets layer and is the most widely used data encryption coding system for secure e-commerce transactions, all of the forms on our site are secured with SSL technology, which means your credit card numbers and other personal information is always encrypted (scrambled) before it is sent or received over the Internet. Usually when browsing a website you will see the address bar beginning with http://, when you are entering a secure session e.g. to enter your credit card details you will notice this address bar change to https:// as an indicator that the information you are about to input will be encrypted and is completely safe to enter. In our case, as an added security measure, you will notice all your account details and general information such as order histories are also held in our secure area and you will see your address bar change to https://secure.scrooz.com.au to show you your information is being processed in a perfectly safe fully encrypted environment.
